Welcome to our Website, the Hall has a capacity for 90 people making it an ideal venue for a variety of celebrations or meetings. We have a car park accomodating up to 20 vehicles with additional car parking space within the Town. The hall has views across the well kept village Green. Apart from the main hall there is a small committee meeting room available that can be hired.

Our friendly booking secretary will be pleased to assist with any enquiries you may have regarding bookings, licencing for a mobile Bar, Music etc.

We especially welcome enquiries from the Houghton Regis Community.

 

The Hall is easily accesable to Wheelchair users, in addition it has a loop system for the hard of hearing and a disabled toilet.

The Hall is managed by a small committee of Trustees who meet on a regular basis. We are a registered as a Charity. The building was transfered to the then Parish Council in August 1946.

TEA DANCE (Mondays)

A Tea Dance is held each Monday from 2.00pm-4.00pm featuring Ballroom, Latin and Sequence styles. You are invited to join us for some fun, moving to music and  meeting new people as well as the benefits of a good workout. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served during the break. 

 

 

SEQUENCE DANCE (Mondays)

Mondays sequence dance is an informal session of modern sequence dancing led by a qualified teacher.

PHOENIX BALLROOM & SEQUENCE DANCE CLUB 

The Club meets on a Tuesday evening from 8pm-10pm (except the first Tuesday of the Month). They have been established since 1990 and have met at different locations. They are a friendly group  new to the Memorial Hall. They hold a once a month Saturday Dance at Challney Girls School, and have a live band on occasions.

 

WOMANS INSTITUTE (Tuesdays)

Houghton Regis Women's Institute was founded in June 1945. We are a group of friendly women of various ages and we meet at the Memorial Hall on the first Tuesday of the Month at 7.30pm. We have a wide variety of speakers as well as regular craft and quiz evenings. Obviously, we always make time for refreshments even if not all of us are jam makers!

 

We sometimes have an outing locally. Previously we have been to Jordans Mill, Priory House, Caldecotte Lake and the beautifully renovated Houghton Hall Park.

 

We are involved in our local community and take part in several events such as Carnival throughout the year.

 

Members are encouraged to suggest subjects for meetings, speakers and locations for outings. We do not take ourselves too seriously and new members are always welcome. Why not give us a try?

 

BINGO (Wednesdays)

Bingo is held in a relaxed atmosphere on Wednesday evenings, The session lasts for about two hours. Refreshments are available from the tea bar before the game starts and during the break, there is also a raffle. It's a great place to meet new friends.

 

THURSDAY BINGO (Thursdays)

We run an over 60 Bingo club on a Thursday afternoon, doors open at 1pm and bingo starts at 1.45pm. We all have a nice time and you can make new friends. The price of books are as follows: £4.00 for 6, £2.00 for 3. Admission is £1.00 and the flyer £1.00.

U3A SEQUENCE DANCE (Fridays)

The group is one of many of approximately one hundred different groups in Dunstable U3A. We are all retired and enjoy sequence dancing, learning many new dances. The group is very fortunate to have the services of a professional dance teacher. Many have progressed from basic sequences to more complicated ones. The group was started over 10 years ago and still have some of the founder members attending.

 

DUNSTABLE DANCE CLUB (Fridays)

The group meet every Friday throughout the year with one exception Good Friday. We are a friendly group and new members are always welcome. We have many new dances to learn throughout the year and Luckily, we have been able to secure the services of two professional dance teachers.

 

LINE DANCE (Saturdays)

The Ballroom club meet on the last Saturday of the month. We dance to recorded music played by experienced D.J's, Although we welcome new dancers it is essential to book as we often reach maximum numbers.
